Funding is available from Surrey County Council for 2021/22 to help residents, voluntary and community organisations

Each Surrey county councillor has £5,000 funding for 2021/22 to help residents, voluntary and community organisations deliver activities that benefit local people in their neighbourhoods.

This funding is known as Members’ Community Allocation.

Members’ Community Allocation (MCA) funding can be used for one-off activities that cost just a few pounds, alternatively it can contribute to projects that cost much more. The funding is flexibly designed to help with costs that can range from purchasing sports equipment for local clubs, to the creation of websites to reach more residents.

Online applications for funding can be made from 4 June 2021 until 31 January 2022.

Click here to find out more and how to apply.

Walking for Health – Volunteer Walk leaders wanted

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who enjoys walking and has time to lead or assist on one of our many walks in Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge. Our walks are offered 6 mornings a week (Monday – Friday, and Sunday) and range in length from 30 – 90 minutes. Positions are available for volunteers who can commit on a weekly or twice monthly basis. The role comes with a degree of flexibility.

We welcome interest from people who are friendly, welcoming and reliable. You would ideally work with other leaders to provide a safe walk by leading, “middle marking” or “back marking” during the walk. Walk leaders need to be observant and sensitive to the needs of others. We are currently recruiting in the Horley and Earlswood areas.
